The Helio is a 5-star rated energy efficient solar lifestyle family home designed to optimise the Australian climate. 

The 5 star energy rating is awarded to homes by the NSW Office of Energy as a result of strict compliance with proven criteria through careful planning and design. Some key aspects considered when awarding the rating to an energy efficient home are:

    1. Northerly aspect
    2. Cross ventilation
    3. Thermal mass ( concrete slab, some solid internal walls).
    4. Correct insulation of roof, walls and edges of the slab.
    5. Shading of northern windows in summer.
    6. No windows on the east or west (or fully shaded).

These aspects will provide you with an energy efficient home which is warm in winter (saving heating costs) and cool in summer.

External Walls
Steel stud framed with R2 wall insulation and brick veneer or Hebel power panel cladding. Alternatives of brickwork, blockwork or mud brick with bagged and painted finish.

Roof
Steel prefabricated roof trusses and roof purlins with colourbond roof decking and R2 insulation and sizalation blanket.

Internal Walls
Steel stud with plasterboard lining. Some walls in north facing rooms are bagged brickwork to provide thermal mass.

Ceilings
Plasterboard with option for timber lining to some areas.

Timberwork
MDF skirtings, architraves and trim with paint finish.

Windows
Colour finish aluminium frames with insect screens. Timber windows option.
